Here are the details of my Tail of the Badger drive out scheduled for Saturday May 18th. This drive combines great scenery, curvy roads, a cheese store, an Amish bakery, and a nice sports bar for lunch. The ride will start in Sauk City at the Cenex gas station at 758 Phillips Blvd, Sauk City. (This is the same place we started for the Sunrise apple tour last fall) We will meet at the gas station at 9:00am with a drivers meeting at 9:20 am. The tour will start at 9:30am. The drive is broken up into one hour driving segments with stops at Carr Valley Cheese, Scenic View Bakery, and Beezers Sports Bar for lunch. You may want to bring a small cooler if you plan on buying cheese and bakery goods. This tour will be both a spirited and scenic drive. Ron Frank will also know the route and he will be somewhere in the middle of the tour to make sure anyone wanting to stay at a scenic pace does not have to worry about finding the stops. Since the driving segments are only about an hour long the scenic group will always be close. I will go over details at the drivers meeting. I have a planned route back to Sauk City from Beezer's and you can expect to get there around 3-3:30 pm. You can also blaze your own way home from the restaurant if you like. Please let me know if you plan to attend this drive out by either registering on our Web site calendar, emailing me, or giving me a call. I need to let the restaurant know a tentative head count. Feel free to show up even if you haven't contacted me. This will be a fun and scenic drive on some very smooth roads.
